Sep 2020 | News from Insuco

Last 17th of September, Insuco Guinea had the pleasure of participating in the presentation of the Environmental and Social Strategic Assessment of the occupation by mining infrastructures of the Guinean coastal zone, in Conakry.

Entrusted to Insuco by the Regional Partnership for the Conservation of the Coastal and Marine Zone in West Africa (PRCM) and the Guinean Bureau of Environmental Studies and Evaluations (BGEEE) within the framework of the PRISE Project, the study proposes a diagnosis and lines of thought for a better management of the Guinean coastline, which is particularly affected by the multiplication of mining infrastructures. During this restitution, the participants exchanged on the recommendations relating to the legal framework, land use planning, governance, training and E&S monitoring and control systems.

We would like to thank the PRCM and the BGEEE for their trust and for organising this workshop, as well as all the participants for their presence! Special thanks to Mathieu Ducrocq who led this study.
